Épône-Mézières station districtÉpône (78)

Project Description

In Épône-Mézières, the urban study imagines a new station district of nearly eleven hectares, welcoming travellers, residents and shops around generous, planted public spaces.

In front of the station, a large open forecourt replaces the transit spaces. Its light, continuous surface links the station building, the bus stops and the new buildings; tall trees provide shade, wooden benches accompany planted beds, and the forecourt hosts markets and food stalls. Ground-floor shops open onto the square.

From the station, a tree-lined mall leads to the heart of the district: a wide promenade in the shade of tall trees, shared by pedestrians and cyclists, lined with planted strips and benches. Along the railway, a thick band of vegetation accompanies the new blocks and links them to the landscape of the valley.
