Europe AvenueMassy (91)

Project Description
Avenue de l'Europe is a unique public space: it is not bordered by any buildings. Through the trees, one can glimpse residential buildings, a school perched above (Collège Diderot), and cars emerging from the shopping center. The avenue appears to connect a roundabout to an expressway ramp.
This project presents an opportunity to reconnect neighborhoods—the city center, Bonde, the Atlantis district, Tuilerie Park, and Georges Brassens Park. It also offers the chance to transform a supermarket and create a new neighborhood facing the regenerated Tuilerie Park. The avenue thus becomes a key element, uniting and reconnecting the city like an archipelago.
The project transforms the avenue into a parkway—a large linear park, a new public space generously planted with majestic trees that give it a forest-like ambiance. It reconnects the city, highlighting the geography by creating a vantage point over Tuilerie Park and rediscovering the stream below.
