Puits la Marlière ParkVilliers-le-Bel (95)

Project Description
Between the city and the countryside, the project creates a large, active boundary—a park system between the existing neighborhood and the fields. The park serves as the driving force behind this rural edge, at the territorial scale. A large wall defines this boundary, while a terrace frames a view of the countryside. The trees from the wasteland are preserved to form a grove at the heart of the project, providing a large, shaded area where people can gather and engage in various activities.
The park's program is the result of community engagement, with residents coming together around two simple questions: "What is a convivial space? How should it be designed?" Every Wednesday for six months, workshops were held, bringing together adults and children from the neighborhood center to explore these questions. Every detail was chosen with great care: children's play areas, shared gardens, barbecue spaces, and their arrangement in relation to other city programs.
