Gorky parkKrasnoyarsk (Siberia)

Project Description
The Central Park of Krasnoyarsk, once known as the City Garden, is an iconic place steeped in history. Created in the 19th century, this park has long been the green lung of the city and a space for socializing for its residents.
Inspired by the rich landscapes unique to the region, its rehabilitation offers an immersion in the typical ecosystems of Siberia. From the Western Siberian Plain to the Central Siberian Plateau, through the Sayan Mountains, the park reinvents majestic mountains, dense taiga, forest-steppes, and the banks of the Yenisei River. These new landscapes pay tribute to the natural diversity that characterizes Krasnoyarsk.
Siberia evokes a mythical, wild, and preserved territory, fueling the global imagination, much like the Amazon or the Sahel desert. This region is home to ecological treasures such as the Stolby Sanctuary, where over 260 species of moss have been recorded. The park draws inspiration from this richness to offer a vibrant and diverse landscape.
Located along the strategic Sadovaya Street, which connects the Historic Quarter to Teatralnaya Square and the great bridge, the park is also a significant place for travelers of the Trans-Siberian Railway. A spectacular belvedere unveils an impressive panorama of the Yenisei Valley at its heart.
This project transforms Central Park into a true miniature of Siberia, while providing lively and welcoming spaces where locals and visitors can meet, relax, or share a meal.
By placing diversity—ecological, spatial, and functional—at the heart of its design, the park strengthens Krasnoyarsk’s identity. It celebrates both its wild natural heritage and its openness to modernity, becoming a balanced space between urban vitality and serenity.
